Side Job
Alvin had recently proposed to me of his intentions to put up a blog together. Last week, I think, I finally got around to creating it and it’s still on its rough opening. We’ve got loads of stuff to figure out about it, especially the categories because I am going to go OCD on it if we don’t. Also, introducing tags should be thought about real hard since there are pros and cons of doing so. But being the control freak that I am, I don’t think I could handle it. However, if it means getting more traffic onto our site, then why not? Will have to think about it more fully though.
The making of Drastik Fantastik has been awesome to do. I especially enjoyed writing for our navigation menu which I’ve aptly titled Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How. Alvin, of course, was trying to be a Don and didn’t help out, or at the most (and if I want to be nice) we could just say I beat him to it.
Posts for that are coming in quite staunchly and mostly from my side. That’s okay though, I guess I’m more into it than I thought I would be? I did tell Alvin that I’m a bit hesitant to do it as I wanted to update this one more. Something’s got to give, I guess. Rest assured, I will be able to figure out how to divide the things I write about as personal or for whore purposes; until then, we just have to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
The thing about putting up Drastik Fantastik is that it’s closely related to the work I do so I’m a bit unsure if I would get sacked because of it. I’m hoping that because it is a non-profit activity I’m hoping it’ll be fine. We’ll just have to find out sooner or later then, yeah?
I’ve been meaning to get into writing but I think I joined the wrong department when I accepted this job since I got deployed in the company’s Marketing section. I did plan on doing post graduate studies in Marketing but I haven’t thought about what to expect from it. So now that I’m here I have to decide if this industry really is for me. As for my writing, that’ll have to wait (again). I do plan to get into freelance writing but there’s a company policy that bans me from doing any work at almost every publication out there. They would probably agree if I joined a publication located at the moon but who wants to go that far, right? Plus being a foreign worker, I’m not legally allowed to do part-time/freelance work. I will have to find a way around this.
I put up an RSS feed of Drastik Fantastik on the sidebar just in case my posting frequency lessens, then at least you’ll have an idea what the hell I’ve been doing.
