Inked

I was supposed to post photos of my tattoos, which I got two weeks ago, but since I was busy squirming and screaming my head off during the entire process I had no photos of it whatsoever. Lainie has documentation and you can see the final products here and here. The one on my inner left wrist is a representation of a lunar eclipse while the one behind my right ear is a stylized version of morse code that means fate.  I have to say that getting a tattoo done is nerve-wracking but everything is all in the head.  However, I think it’d be best if one expects the worst of it because, at the very least, you would be proven wrong; unless your tolerance for pain is nil only then would we be having problems.

Anyway, I just arrived this morning (at 2am to be exact) from KL.  I finally had a second chance to go back to that city and, like I said the first time, I love it still.  I think the biggest reason I’m endeared to it is the fact that it reminds me so much of Manila but that KL is more accessible and cheaper to visit.  Add to that is the vast amount of food to try.

I didn’t really do much during my stay there aside from watch the second set of 10-minute plays participating in Short + Sweet Malaysia at KLPAC and Wall.e at the cinemas.  I was, however, literally stuffed with beef rendang from Precious Restaurant in Central Market and Madam Kwan’s in KLCC.  I have never been so full of food as I was during that short trip.

During my stay in KL I thought about backpacking across Thailand sometime in February or March next year.  I don’t know how it came about but the thought just landed on my face and it actually made sense.  So now I’m starting to research on it and I’m hoping it pushes through.  I have six months to pool in the funds; I wouldn’t be needing much since I’m set to do it in as little expense as possible.  I’m also looking into the possibility of getting there by land from Malaysia.

On a small note, I’m doing some volunteer work.  Yes, I’m offering some writing services for free for a company that’s set to take a creative social revolution.  They’re very digital and, therefore, tech-savvy as well but with a penchant love for environmental and social issues.  I’m also looking into doing random project-based volunteer work in the arts scene here.  I’m doing it for some personal reevaluation.
