Favorite Lomo Cameras: The Diana Series, I have two Diana F+ (original and a white one) and the Diana Mini.

Favorite effect produced by Lomo cameras: The random light effects, I love the unpredictability and occasional strange colours that come through from leaked light. Also just started playing around with double exposures they’re alot of fun!

Favorite film to use: At the moment I’ve been using the Lomography Color Negative, 35mm 400 ASA. I’m still experimenting with different films.

How long have you been doing Lomography?
Officially only 2 months but I’ve been interested in Lomography for about 1.5 years now.

What got you started in Lomography?
I lost interest in DSLR photography and was using my Polaroid camera a lot, I enjoyed the candid nature of Polaroid and was looking for another creative film camera. That’s when I came across the Lomo Cameras. A fellow blogger Intimate Vignettes recommended the Diana so I went out and got one. But the 120 film the Diana required meant it sat unused for a long time. I was intending to get the 35mm back for it when the Diana Mini came out. I haven’t looked back! I love how small and cute the Diana Mini is and the fact it’s a cheaper alternative to the original Diana. I’m now wanting to get some of the other Lomo Cameras as each seems to get such different results.

Why do you Lomo?
Mainly cause its fun!! I’m loving experimenting with different films again, waiting for a film to get developed and wearing my lomo around my neck. Its always a talking point at parties too!!

Why We Lomo was a project I started to feature the many faces that Lomography has managed to capture. Its home was a now-defunct creative blog but has since found its new home here. Be sure to check back every fortnight on Tuesdays for a new featured profile.  Know a Lomography enthusiast?  Email me at hello[at]nikipaniki.com.
