Let’s Sit And Talk Awhile

I once thought I wanted to be an interior designer.

That dream blew up into smoke when I realized I had little to no ounce of design in me.  To be honest, even my appreciation of design is solely based on feeling and intuition.

Well, that’s exactly why I was so tickled by this Troels Grum-Schwensen and Aksel Kjergaard collaboration.

I don’t know about you but I can imagine what kind of an exercise I’d get when I try to share a slice of warm chocolate cake on this. It’ll probably help me burn calories as I go along consuming them. If you think about it, it makes for a good excuse to have more cake, isn’t it?

Anyway, description for this piece reads:

Narrow margins have been set for the negotiations at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit. A lack of mutual openness will have consequences … A balancing act…

This is all in part of The Cabinetmaker’s Autumn Exhibition 2009: DIALOGUE – A Chair That Is Up for Negotiation that “takes its point of departure in the 2009 climate change summit, COP15, where the world leaders are tasked with achieving improvements on the 1997 Kyoto Protocol.”  There’s a lot of other good designs so click that link above.  And if you’re still itching for more, you may want to check out 27 Years of Creativity at Yatzer.

Mustachio

Ever since I’ve added more site feeds to my reader, and recently moving all of them to NetNewsWire (Google Reader sync feature FTW!) I have had my nose stuck on trying to go through 500+ unread posts everyday.  That’s a lot of reading material but I live through these stuff.

Anyway, I’m a big fan of mustaches.  Random, I know but whatever.

I always pretend I have one either by using my real hair or drawing it on photos. I don’t know why but mustaches, though not entirely sexy, are quite enigmatic.

David’s been kind enough to allow me to post this piece of work I’ve done of him a few weeks ago. What do you think?

Well today I’ve been looking at a lot of mustache-related posts and I think I might want to try my hand at some merchandise or making a fake one like this from Simply Mom or this wearable one by 5 Orange Potatoes or this awesome bookmark from Cut Out + Keep.

One of these days I must have a mustache themed birthday party, yeah?

So who’s with me?

***Mustachio is mustache + pistachio. Just saying.

Addicted To Drugs

More like, addicted to The Raveonettes. One of their favorites of mine is D.R.U.G.S. which you can give a listen below.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

And it could also be that I’m addicted to B.L.O.G.S.  Haha, ain’t I clever.

Anyway, I use NewsFire for all the feeds I subscribe to and I cannot believe how unruly my list has been growing.  I like to put them in groups and somehow, or most of the time, the blogs that I am in love with couldn’t be classified into just one category.  However, there are blogs that are more inclined into, say fashion, and it seems like my fashion list continues to grow: from model blogs to photographers, from personal stylists to socialites, from artists to designers.

I’ve been meaning to write about Igor + Andre as it’s been in my “Blog This” folder in Google Bookmarks for like forever.  More than anything, that blog is a collection of Danny Roberts’ creative genius.  His works are just amazing and he’s only 23!

Like most of us here, he has some blogger favorites too.  Although, unlike most of us, he can actually make portraits of them, gorgeous ones to boot.  I chose some of his work and posted them below, most of whom I follow closely.  You can view the rest of his work in his blogger portraits here.

Have fun clicking them links!
