Barely Awake But I Still Got My Stripes

Tokyo Police Club has been sitting in my iTunes for months. I’ve given some of their songs a few rounds, like Frankenstein, Breakneck Speed, or Hands Reversed, but most of the time, for some reason, I just hit on “next” every time one of their songs come on. It’s not them, it’s me.  Famous last words.  I mean, just like how we determine what to wear, the music we listen to is determined by our mood.  So for the past few weeks I’m feeling a lot like Tokyo Police Club; throw in The Foals, The Whitest Boy Alive, and Small Sins into the mix too.  Ha!  I don’t know what that implies really.

Anyway, TPC just recently released a video of their song Bambi, the same song that I’m addicted to these days.  I don’t know, this just tickles me; something to do with the keyboards bit I’m sure, or the dips in the vocals. Or simply, that it’s called Bambi.

Aren’t they an endearing bunch?

A few of these have been in the back burner for quite a while now.  I have a lot more but let’s start with these first.

• The newlyweds, Coco Rocha and James Conran, look adorably cute together in these photos taken by Behati Prinsloo with a film SLR.
• I can’t wait to try and develop my own film.  In a few months I could probably start thinking about investing in a film scanner.
• Been thinking of doing a blog overhaul but think I should start small like with, say re-writing my About page.  I’ve read Chris Hardwick’s About page and I’m not sure I could top that.
• I used to be able to go through a book rather quickly.  It’s either I’m getting slow or I’m picking up the wrong kinds of books.  In any case, I found these free mini books by Featherproof which can and would help me feel like I’m back to my old bookworm self.
• Does anyone notice that I leave these so-called “Easter eggs” in my posts?  Although I highly doubt I get raving fans from it as I do it mostly to create that comfortable security layer of revealing things but only to the discerning eye.
• I finally had time to read James Franco’s short story from Esquire, Just Before The Black.  It’s not so bad.
• Read about and listen to Cut Copy’s Where I’m Going from Letter to Jane

Glad I went to the Sky Terrace, Hong Kong has such an amazing skyline. We were lucky that the fog cleared while we were there.
