Shake It Like It Ain’t Ironic

There is nothing in this world that can cure the blues away much like music does so here are two of my weekend favorites.

Happy Dre by Sky Ferreira and Skeet Skeet

Aside from that, I have been drowning myself in episodes of The Office.  I am quite smitten by John Krasinski, to be very honest about it.  He goes in the same category (in my book) as Jason Segel.  But perhaps I just have a soft spot for funny people minus the obnoxiousness.  Then again, who isn’t?

In other news, I have semi-booked plans for a birthday trip in March.  Of course the only thing that’s really got me worried are the finances seeing how solidly allocated every penny is when the monthly paycheck comes.  Still, I think I deserve to go out and relax even if coming back from it broke is going to stress the hell out of me.  Ironic, eh?  Such is life.

Clearly one of my favorite people here in Singapore. I can’t quite describe him but Brian’s one of the most genuine people you’d ever meet.  The office wouldn’t be the same without him now that he’s venturing out to find his next great adventure.  I’m sure I’ll bump into him again soon — actually, he’s always just a tweet away.

Drifting Away To Uh Oh Those Summer Nights

Once you graduate from university, that’s it, summer holidays will never be the same. Actually, there is no such thing as summer anymore, now that I think about it. Hmm. The meaning of summer gets more vague as the years go by and it feels like a distant, perhaps even more so, like a parallel or alternate universe. For me, however, summer would always mean the months of March to May since that’s the day when the sun shines its brightest in the Philippines. It was always during this time when students get a break from the school year and just hit up the beach or travel somewhere, anywhere. Here in Singapore, I’m not really sure when it is since “summer holidays” differ for each student (am I right on this?) and everyone is just in a constant state of traveling (wads of cash + little space = a plane ticket to everywhere).

Ah well, I’m not really talking about summer but I’m talking about the heat. Oh yes, the heat. Or more like the hot girls boys of summer.  Actually, NO.  I’m talking about how Joseph Gordon-Levitt is gorgeous as ever. I had a massive crush when I saw him in Angels in the Outfield, I think I was seven or eight years old then.  Of course, he was awesome in 3rd Rock from the Sun, 10 Things I Hate About You, and he does remind me of Heath Ledger.  *swoons*  Gosh, all this talk about boys – it is so unlike me.

(500) Days of Summer debuts tomorrow, 17 July 2009
